Intuition Solar Pv monitoring

Choosing the correct interface with your system is a key design aspect that is often overlooked.  A good monitoring solution is vital to determining the real-time and historical performance of your system and identifying problems such as the build-up of dirt, or a fault.

From wireless desktop displays to packages that interface with your PC, to smart phone apps, we can find a monitoring solution to meet your needs.

Here are some options we offer you:

The most basic form of monitoring is acheived by your generation meter, a standard part of every installation, which tells you how much electricity your system has produced.

Solar Edge Wi-Fi Communication Solution

This simple to use wireless system enables wireless communication between the SolarEdge inverter and a Wi-Fi router. The Wi-Fi solution is installed in the inverter, saving the time and cost associated with installing an Ethernet connection.
The owner can then access details about how their solar panels are performing,  including individual panels, anytime anywhere, due to the 'power optimisers' fitted to each panel (see diagram above). The 'power optimisers' are small units that connect to each panel, allowing information about each individual panel to be monitored and relayed from the inverter. When the data is accessed on-line, a map clearly displays the location and behaviour of each panel in the solar array. If, for instance, there is a build up of leaves on a particular solar panel affecting energy performance, this can be identified, and the panel can be marked for cleaning.
The following Wi-Fi Communication Solution options are available:
-  Kit with a Wi-Fi module and an antenna
-  Pre-assembled in the inverter (single phase inverters only)

Feature Highlights:
  • Extended communication range with external antenna
  • Wi-Fi module installed within the inverter enclosure for outdoor resilience
  • Robust communications with support of 802.11b/g/n standards
  • Module level, (ie. individual panel )real-time alerts of system issues pinpointed on a virtual map

"Wattson Solar Plus" Room Display

This great looking device can be located somewhere centrally in the home,  glowing different colours to tell you when you are generating spare electricity (time to turn on the kettle!) or when you are importing electricity (for instance if it is cloudy or you have too many appliances turned on).

watson solar plus

  • Displays electricity generation and usage.
The simplest device on the market that monitors and displays electricity consumption and generation on the same unit.
  • Inverter independent.
  • Easy to install and compatible with all inverter brands: the most cost effective solution for Solar PV systems.
  • Shows when free electricity is available.
  • The display glows green to alert users when more power is being generated than used.
  • Standardised and repeatable installation.
  • With Easifit, Wattson Solar Plus is even simpler to install.
  • Fit for purpose.
  • Works with all solar, wind and water generation systems.
  • Easy to use.
  • Shows the electricity in use in your home at any given time in cost, watts or kg carbon for better visibility of your daily electricity activity.

"Holmes" software to track and analyse your Wattson data

Holmes monitoring software

There are lots of benefits to analysing your Wattson data.

  • Help you identify when your usage is high
  • Compare days, weeks, month even years of electricity use
  • Visibility of graphs showing usage in units such as power, energy, cost and carbon.
  • Ability to display all the above figures and graphs in real time while wattson is connected.
  • Graphically shows you what the numbers on the Wattson display actually mean: how much you’re spending on electricity, when you use it most, and how to reduce what you use when you don’t need it.

  • Dashboard which displays today’s solar figures as well as life time totals.
  • Ability to display the efficiency of the solar system in easy to understand pie charts.
  • Visibility of graphs showing usage, generation and grid (import/export) in units such as power, energy, cost and carbon.

"OWL Intuition" Solar PV Monitoring

  • Allows monitoring of the PV generation, export and overall consumption of a property with solar panels.
  • Intuition online dashboard gives you access wherever you go, as long as you have internet access. Android and i-Phone apps can give you access on-the-go.
  • Shows live readings to 12 second intervals, and a historical account of the above; also telling you when you've improved your usage habits or your solar panels are performing better.
  • User configurable tariff settings allow the unit to calculate what you've spent over the course of a day, week, and month. FITS settings allow you to see the tangible impact your solar panels are having on your bills.
  • Provides graphs showing both historical and peak values, allowing you to identify when your solar panels have been generating the most energy - and therefore the best times to use power in a day.
